World Economy and Labour Value Theory : Some elements on Latin America in the crisis

Abstract:

As the first results of these policies tend to show (in late December 2018), the political (Elections of a far-right candidate in Brazil),economical(crisis) and social (unemployment, poverty and extreme-poverty, violence) situation in Latina America is mile away from the situation before the 2007-2008 crisis. The liberal policies based on pro-free trade of the countries of the region (in contrast with the projectionist measures of both US and Europe) seem to be the basic rules for the recently elected Brazilian far-right Government and other Latin American countries. In Argentina, the crisis seems endless. Not even the agreement with the IMF seems to be able to tackle the crisis (and may even worsen it).In most Latin American Countries, “Neo-Neo liberal reforms”of the “Labour Market” are, once again, the mantra for liberal regimes in the region. It is worth mentioning that the context of these policies is relevant too as similar reforms are implemented in other regions like Europe. Basedon these elements and following the debate on the Labour Value Theory on the World Economy someconclusions about the dependence of the Latin American accumulation will be presented.
