Nine Years of Displacement - Synopsis

The film examines the aftermath of Georgia-Russian War of 2008. It takes a close look at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Settlement, and how people's lives have changed since the war. Three teenagers explain their adjustments to IDP life, full of disadvantages and promising opportunities.

Director Biography - Tornike Koplatadze

Tornike Koplatadze is from Tbilisi Georgia. Throughout his life he has lived in four different countries. He was accepted at the University of Nottingham, where he studied Film and Television studies and rigorously participated in university student life. Three years later he begun his masters course at University College London (UCL), where he undertook practical course in Ethnographic and Documentary Filmmaking. For his graduation film he went returned to his roots. Tornike Koplatadze tackled the most important and sensitive subject for Georgia: Russian Occupation, resulting in his Nine Years of Displacement. Currently, Koplatadze is working in Georgia.
